TWO's 1st official visit
to Denver |
The Takayama Wind Orchestra
(TWO) officially visited Denver to have the Friendly Concert
with the Denver Municipal Band (DMB) and their Friends in October,
1994.
TWO was established
in 1969 as an amateur band in the Takayama area. All of the members
love and enjoy music, and are actively involved in musical activities.
They hold their own concert and also participate in various kinds
of local events that keep music easily accessible to the residents
of Takayama. |

TWO and DMB have established
a new stage of the sister city programs, which is, the cultural
exchange through music. Music can be a very useful language which
lowers borders among countries, and allows people to communicate
freely in spite of different linguistic and cultural backgrounds. |
In November, 1996,
Mr. Gerald Endsley, Music Director of DMB and his wife Pamela,
Principal Flutist of Colorado Symphony Orchestra, joined the
TWO's annual concert. This program was held as one of the events
to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Takayama's incorporation
as a city. Mr. and Mrs. Oberfield, Director of Mayor's Office
of Art, Culture and Film also visited Takayama.

TWO's 2nd official visit
to Denver |
The Takayama Wind Orchestra
(TWO) officially visited Denver to have the 2nd Friendly Concert
with the Denver Municipal Band (DMB) in October, 2000. The concert
was held to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the sister city
affliation between Takayama and Denver.
Besides the main concert,
TWO visited the University of Colorado at Boulder to have musical
exchange with young musicians of the University's Wind Orchestra.
Also, Takayama woman's chorus group "SATSUKI" accompanied
TWO to Denver, and they had small concert for Denverties. |

TWO's 3rd official visit to Denver

| The Takayama Wind Orchestra (TWO) were officially invited by DTSCC to attend the concert cerebrating for the 100th anniversary of the relationship between Japan and USA. It was TWO's 3rd concert in Denver. |
October 5 and 6, 2005
Main Concert by TWO and DMB was held at the Boettcher Hall. TWO also had a concert on the 16th street of downtown.
