These buildings are Kusakabe Heritage House and Yoshijima Heritage House.
Both of them are designated as important cultural assets by the Japanese
government. |
| 日下部民芸館の現在の建物は、明治12年に高山随一の名工と言われた川尻治助（カワジリ・ジスケ）によって建てられ、江戸時代の高山の商家の造りを伝える集大成と言えるものです。 |
The present building of Kusakabe Heritage House was built in 1879 by the
most skilful carpenter, Juisuke Kawajiri, and
it is a typical merchant house from Edo era. |

Yoshijima House was built in 1907 by Isaburo Nishida, and it was originally
a sake brewery. |

Kusakabe House has sort of masculine structure
whereas Yoshijima House has feminine structure. |
