| 古い町並みの中には、春祭りにひき出される屋台が保管されています。屋台蔵と呼ばれる白い土蔵の中に屋台は眠っています。年に一度の祭りにはその豪華絢爛な姿をみせるのです。 |

| 日本の三大美祭と言われている高山祭は、4月14、15日に開かれる春の山王祭と、10月9、10日に開かれる秋の八幡祭を総称しています。祭りそのものは1650年代に始まったとされていますが、現在のように屋台をともなうようになったのは1718年（享保3年）ころからと言われています。 |

in Japan, which are held on the 14th and 15th of April, and the 9th and

| 高山には、山王祭に12台、八幡祭に11台、飛騨総社に1台、白山神社に1台の計25台の屋台がありますが、うち山王の12台と八幡の11台は国の重要有形民俗文化財に指定されています。 |
